The New Year and Christmas holidays have just ended, but we continue to share joy with special children. This time, pupils of the Berdychiv Special School of the Zhytomyr Regional Council were greeted with a fun performance, contests and sweets.
In order for the children to always have enough strength and inspiration for active games, we also brought 500 kg of long-term food products.
“We understand that the managers, educators and medical workers of the orphanage in such difficult times make incredible efforts for the well-being of their pupils. These are people who save, protect, raise and love their special children every day,” says the manager of the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation, Iryna Danko.
“Today we brought with us not only food and sweets, but also a real children’s holiday — because it is so important — not to deprive children of their childhood, even in the conditions of war,” she added.
The Berdychiv Special School of the Zhytomyr Regional Council has existed since 1980. This is an educational, correctional and developmental educational institution that provides special children with general education according to special curricula, programs and textbooks in combination with long-term rehabilitation and correction of psychophysical developmental disabilities.
The staff of the institution considers the implementation of the right of such children to obtain a general secondary education in accordance with their capabilities and abilities, taking into account the individual characteristics of development, as well as their early socialization for further successful integration into society, to be their tasks.
“From all the children, from our entire team, I am sincerely grateful to the Vadym Novinsky Foundation for making such an incredible holiday for us today! Nataliya Grabarchuk, deputy director of the Berdychiv special school for educational work, addressed our employees. — Our children are special, but they are the best. We sincerely thank you for the wonderful program, for the food and sweets that you provided to our children today! First of all, we wish you health, prosperity, peace, harmony and the fastest victory for our Ukraine!”

On January 23–24, representatives of the “Mercy Mission” and the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation delivered another humanitarian cargo tranche for the victims in the Kherson Oblast war zone and the Ukrainian military.
“We managed to visit and provide assistance in the Karabel district (Island) — the most affected place in Kherson, where people are under constant shelling without heating or transport. We gave them clothes, heaters, medicine and food products,” Archpriest Andriy Dvorovy, head of the Department of Social Service and Charity of the Kyiv Diocese of the UOC, said.
The humanitarian mission also visited units of the Armed Forces defending Ukraine in the Kherson direction.
The defenders were given small pots, medicines, foodstuffs, and trench candles. The soldiers also received drawings from children with words of support and wishes for victory.
“Thank you for your help in this difficult time. Now Kherson suffers from shelling every day. Many houses are still without electricity and heat. But there are people here. They live and wait for the best. Thank you all for your loving and compassionate hearts, for your support,” Archpriest Ioann Gordienko, head of the department of social service of the Kherson Diocese, said.
“We are grateful to all benefactors. We brought not just heaters, blankets or food for the military and residents of the de-occupied territories — it is a manifestation of your care, love, kindness and mercy. We thank the Kyiv Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation, the Trustee Fund of the Church Abroad (New York, USA) and all the caring people who collected and delivered this humanitarian aid,” said Archpriest Kostyantyn, Deputy Head of the Department of Social Service and Charity of the Ukrainian Ukrainian Orthodox Church Diocese Dvorovy.

“Today we brought food products from the Vadym Novinsky Foundation to the village of Kamyanka. This settlement was badly affected by the war — there is no electricity, gas or water here. Volunteers detonated a mine here last week, because nothing has been demined yet,” says volunteer priest Andriy Dvorovy, head of the department of social service and charity of the Kyiv diocese of the UOC.
The villagers thanked the benefactors for their constant help with food and warm things. Many of them were unable to evacuate, and people are now surviving in difficult conditions caused by past hostilities.

This week, an extremely important cargo was delivered to the warehouse of the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation — medical goods, which our specialists carefully selected and ordered in Turkey.
“ As part of the humanitarian cargo, we received dressing medical materials, elastic bandages, bandage trauma bandages, saline solution in convenient elastic containers, syringes for droppers with a system for connecting saline solution, a large volume of modern disinfectant — betadine — for treating wounds before surgical intervention, very high-quality tourniquets to stop bleeding and light gauze dressing materials from an elastic bandage,” says Ivan Rozhko, an employee of the medical corps of the Foundation.
All of these products are medically certified, but will still undergo professional testing. Already after that, they will be sent to the front to our defenders according to letters from military units with orders.
