About Me
A resident of Southampton, New York, Troy Buckner is a longtime entrepreneur most recently successful in a venture as a private art dealer. His path to art dealing began while studying art history at the University of Washington, where he started his own business as a personal trainer. He later left college to pursue the possibility of starting a restaurant in Seattle. In 1998, Troy Buckner’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to open an art gallery, Clark Fine Art, in Southampton, New York.

At his gallery, Troy Buckner exhibited many notable artists, including John Chamberlain, Chuck Close, Donald Sultan, and others. In 2002, he featured the work of Larry Rivers, a longtime resident of Southampton. The exhibit, Lost Drawings from the 50’s and 60’s, attracted the notice of Art in America, an international magazine for collectors, artists, dealers and other art professionals. In an article in the magazine entitled “Drawings, Lost and Found,” Richard Kalina commended Buckner for the “small but potent show” and for reminding art lovers “what a terrific draftsman [Larry Rivers] really was.”

Today, Troy Buckner advises individual collectors on purchases as a private art dealer. He also acts as a consultant to museums on their collections and acquisitions. Buckner has facilitated the sale of work by artists including Robert Rauschenberg, John Chamberlain, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein. He also keeps involved with the local Parrish Art Museum and every year supports the museum’s Mid Summer Gala, one of the highlights of the summer social season.
