Semiconductor Industry Marketing Manager

36 years old
Driving License
Dallas (75206) United States (Texas)
Employed Open to opportunities
I want my career to be led by international challenges in innovative electronic companies. I'm excited by team play work in multicultural environments.
I am skilled in both Engineering and Marketing/Sales. My engineering degree in EE has given me an important logical and mathematical reasoning so that I have a good critical and analytical mind. And the Business specialized Master degree allowed me to have the overall strategic vision and the Business dimension necessary for the management of innovative projects.
I specialized in “Designing and Integrating Electronics Systems” during the last two years of my ESIEE Engineering course while I was in an academic exchange program in Madrid and then in Southampton. During these years abroad, I considerably improved my English and Spanish. I also increased my openness and my flexibility to multicultural environments that made me able to work efficiently in Cascoda (ASIC Design Engineer) and then Texas Instruments (Business Development Engineer).

Curiosity is the main feature my colleagues, friends and family use to describe me. I am constantly getting informed about technological, political, economic and environmental news, allowing to have strong interest in High-Tech projects and a passionate discussion about the Electronics Industry.

I am from the Parisian region where my three brothers (being the 2nd) and my parents still live.

  • I implemented Management of Innovation using the MS MTI master tools that I learnt.
It consisted in understanding how the company worked, what were the products, services and solutions provided, interviewing the key employees and figuring out what were their daily activities.
That allowed our team of 3 consulting students to write a report that we presented to the school and the company. This report gave a status of the company, the results of our investigations and our recommendations.
This student project was led in parallel with EMLyon studies and with their support.
  • During my final engineer internship, I took part in the design of a full custom-designed ASIC chip.
This project was dedicated to cooperate with other companies in a home automation project in which Cascoda provides the low-power radio chip.
The objectives were to design microprocessor peripherals in synthesisable RTL code and test them rigorously by using self-checking testbenches with independently developed stimulus.
Once these hardware coding objectives completed, I had to implement them into the whole system and then test them thoroughly by software.
Finally, the synthesis allowed me to verify the functionality, size (number of gates deduced from an 180nm cell library) and timing (16MHz) criteria from the design specifications. It made me sure the modules developed would be tiny enough to fit into the final device without any problem.
  • At first, I developped VHDL modules specifically designed for an 8051 chip such as a sleep timer, a watchdog timer and a MAC timer.
  • Then, I implemented another serial transmission protocol to the chip, which happened to be an SPI interface.
  • Meanwhile, I wrote the drivers for the modules and a precise technical documentation explaining how to use all the modules and how to use the tests I developed.
Detailed Description
  • It was a great experience I had from many points of view:
    • Innovative product:
It was interesting to know the context in which a new product appears and how a start-up evolves.
    • Useful work:
It’s very gratifying to know my work was really affecting the project progress. I know which modules I’ve done, what they do, what their role in the chip was and how they interacted with the other modules of the chip. Furthermore, I've been said that these modules were used in the successful commercial version.
    • Multi-cultural team:
Of course we were all speaking English together, but it didn’t mean there wasn’t a melting pot. Brazil, Germany, France and China were also represented. This variety of cultures made the discussions and points of view really interesting. And I didn’t feel as if I were a foreigner at all.
    • Very good ambiance:
The managers installed a relaxed ambiance.
    • Background knowledge:
I understood better how to found a company, the business background, the market, the patent
process and many other key knowledge about a start-up creation.
    • Constant support:
They were also very helpful all along the internship every time I needed it.
  • Improved skills:

    • Autonomy

    • International environnement

    • Entrepreneurial spirit
Company Description

  • Designed and delivered a prototype to be validated by the clients.
  • Managed the project stocks and made the first working prototype.
Detailed Description
  • Above all, the project management was the most enjoyable part, I could see the company evolving through the management by projects.
Despite time constraints, costs, resources and technical problems, we had to juggle from one project to another in order to meet deadlines.
In the meantime, Valotec had to meet its customers' needs with high quality prototypes.
  • I improved my electronics skills and also some of my assets such as.my ability to work independently, my organizational skill and my problem solving skill.
  • I could feel the entrepreneuship spirit in this company. Furthermore, I enjoyed working with dynamic, talented and very pragmatic people.
  • Innovation was the key factor for the company. It made me realise how much a startup is dependant to its capacity to innovate in order to survive.

  • In charge of the hotel reception
  • In charge of the breakfast
Detailed Description
  • This summer job has made me aware of my interpersonal skills such as patience, listening and client satisfaction. I improved my ability to adapt quickly to a new job I didn't know anything about.
  • The art of reaching the customer needs in all circumstances was a new challenge for me. But it was very rewarding to my mind.
In addition, the autonomy I had, allowed me to realize how important I was for the hotel image. It had to the perfect representation of the hotel's values through my efficiency and friendliness.
Company Description
It was a small Parisian hotel only made of 50 rooms, in front of the Pitie-Salpetriere hospital. I got to work from the opening at 7am until 2pm, or from 2pm to 10pm. One way or the other, my boss came only from 10am to 7pm. It made me the only hotel's representative the rest of the time.
  • Accounting:
    • I helped the employees of the accounting department in the first part of my summer job. I stood in for people gone in holidays. The job consisted mainly in verifying invoices receipts and making pay the clients who didn't.
Then I had to sort, store, separate, photocopy and make round trips between services to report problems.
  • Telephone Operator: In the second part of my summer job, I stood in for a telephone operator who had personal problems. I was actually the operator of a team of jurists, dealing with HSBC litigations. My main activities were to manage appointments, take into account the jurists schedules and transfer calls depending on their availability.
Detailed Description
  • The job wasn't exciting, but it was enriching for me as I discovered the world of big corporations.
Offices were a totally different places from production lines and bakeries I saw until then. The atmosphere was also very different.
  • I liked to change my job twice in the same company. This way, I could understand better how the company work.
As I had to stand in temporarily for employees in holidays, I had to understand them, their daily routine and their job.
Thus, I tried to do as well as them in a very short time, making it a good exercise of flexibility. Indeed, I succeeded to adapt quickly to a totally new environment each time.
Company Description
HSBC is a huge corporation at the top of the prestigious tower : Coeur Défense. The waste of time and money is a huge problem that is proportional to the size of the company. It's something I realized a lot more than when I worked in very small businesses.
  • Work placement in a production chain of tea. I packaged tea from barrels to boxes of tea, ready to be carried in trucks. These cardboard boxes contained themselves tea bags.
Detailed Description
  • The work itself wasn't exciting at all. It was like the Charlie Chaplin movie 'The Modern Times'.
However, the company structure was much more interesting. The team management in order to reach employees motivation avoiding conflicts are seen from a completely different look when it is part of the lowest hierarchy.
I could see totally differently the team management from the lowest rank in the hierarchy. Dealing with the employees motivation and avoiding conflicts was the most important part for the production plant efficiency.
  • To sum up, it was a much more rewarding internship in terms of human and organizational points of view rather than from a technical point of view.
Save time and materials in order to reach the best efficiency makes sense at that level.
I couldn't imagine that the productivity problems were some much due to human problems and personal interests, rather than machine productivity.
