An alumnus of Seward High School in Nebraska, Thomas "Tom" Stefkovich subsequently studied business management at Southeast Community College and earned a Federal Aviation Administration-issued Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate from Westwood College of Aviation Technology. After gaining hands-on experience with Progressive Automotive in the summer of 2003, Thomas Stefkovich secured his first job in the aviation sector with Harris Aviation. In this capacity, he was responsible for performing A&P maintenance and repairs on Cessna, Beech, and Piper aircraft, among others.
Since leaving Harris in 2005, Thomas Stefkovich has held similar roles with Duncan Aviation, SilverHawk Aviation, and Roth Aerial Spray, where he has worked since 2016 as director of maintenance. In addition to his experience in aviation, Tom Stefkovich served as owner of Nebraska's Rigid Metal and Roofing from 2009 to 2016, during which time he oversaw roofing and custom metalwork for more than 300 residential and business customers in Lincoln, Nebraska, and surrounding areas. He recently completed a diesel mechanics course at Southeast Community College and, beyond his professional pursuits, enjoys riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
