Drawing on more than 15 years of experience, Susan Brunstrum is an interior design professional who serves as principal of the Chicago-based firm Studio Brunstrum, which she founded in 2003 as Sweet Peas Design. An avid traveler, Susan Brunstrum gleans inspiration from art, architecture, and culture from around the world and incorporates various styles into creating warm and inviting residential and commercial spaces. In recent years, her firm has earned four American Society of Interior Designers awards as well as two awards from Modern Luxury Interiors.
In addition to her design work, Susan Brunstrum has appeared frequently as an on-air contributor to programs like Business First, George to the Rescue, and Open House, as well as on numerous podcasts and radio programs. Supplementing her professional pursuits, she is a member of Chicago's River North Design District and the Harper College interior design program's Career Advisory Committee. She is also a former Design Trust Ltd. board member. Before beginning a career in interior design, Ms. Brunstrum worked in marketing and communications for 14 years, during which time she was employed by Waln Communications Group and Baxter Healthcare Corporation, among other Illinois-based companies. She holds a master's degree in advertising and integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University.
