Having graduated from Boston University with a bachelor of arts in political science, Stephen Scarff went on to study theology at the Yale Divinity School, where he received a master of divinity diploma in Anglican studies. Around the same time, Stephen Scarff was awarded a certificate in theology for ministry by the University of Cambridge in England, where he also served as chaplain for King's College and Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

His experience includes serving as an interfaith chaplain resident at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Connecticut and working as a curate for St. John’s Episcopal Church in Massachusetts. Mr. Scarff is currently the chaplain of Compassus Hospice Care, where he provides counseling services to individuals undergoing grief as well as pastoral care to members of communities with insufficient resources.

Stephen Scarff also offers spiritual and pastoral guidance as a volunteer for local hospitals in Beverly, Massachusetts. During his free time, he enjoys playing squash and icon-writing in the Russian Orthodox tradition.
