For my final school project I engineered a servo manipulated DSLR camera that was controlled using an Android phone. I wrote an embedded server built on a custom Linux kernel running on an ARM processor. The phone and the server communicated asynchronously over sockets and the camera and servos were controlled by separate processes that communicated using Linux pipes. I received an A+ for the project.
