Board certified in Healthcare Management, Stephen Erixon employs his extensive experience in hospital administration to successfully expand and improve hospital operations. Beginning his career as an Administrative Resident at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois, Steve Erixon quickly moved up to higher positions of leadership. He became the Chief Executive Officer of a hospital for the first time in 1993, when he joined Columbia Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

During his long career in health administration, Stephen Erixon has been effective in managing hospital finances, increasing census, and improving employee and patient satisfaction. At Skaggs Regional Medical Center, a non-profit regional hospital located in Branson, Missouri, Steve Erixon doubled the foundation net assets and cut hospital expenditures by reducing their unnecessary inventory of medical supplies and changing the employee health benefits scheme, without sacrificing the quality of service that the hospital provides its patients and the satisfaction of its employees. In fact, under Steve Erixon’s leadership, employee morale almost doubled, going from 34 percent to 63 percent, and the hospital’s CMS quality of care indicators achieved compliance rates of over 90 percent. Overall, he was also able to improve census by growing the hospital’s inpatient market share to 67 percent from 61 perecent. At the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, Steve Erixon similarly raised money for the foundation, increased the hospital’s operating cash, and decreased the staff to patient ratio. He was able to increase the overall employee morale to 73 percent and improve patient satisfaction.

Stephen Erixon maintains membership at the American College of Healthcare Executives. Throughout his career, he has also been involved in numerous professional associations and organizations, including the Branson, Missouri Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Committee and Ozark Mountain Visioning Committee, the Rotary Club, and the Missouri Hospital Association, among many others.

Stephen Erixon was educated at the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics, and at Duke University, where he obtained his Master of Health Administration. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing and running.
