About Me
WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT TRADE COMPLIANCE WILL COST YOU

I help shippers who struggle with the complex and frequent changes in international trade regulations.

Did you know that once a shipment is on the way it is very difficult to fix mistakes?

Did you know that everything that leaves our border including people and information, is an export and can be subject to export controls?

✔ Even if you didn't know the part was for a weapon of mass destruction
✔ Even if it is a laptop or software
✔ Even if it is not for sale

Did you know that all shipments coming to the United States are subject to some level of scrutiny?

✔ Even if you buy Cuban cigars from Canada
✔ Even if it is cookies from Grandma
✔ Even if you bought it on Ebay

As an exporter or importer - you are at risk, no matter who fills out the paperwork.

If international shipping is a mystery to you, mistakes can be very costly and time consuming.

Trade violations can clog your supply chain, disrupt productivity and in the worst scenario, result in fines and negative publicity. Does your company have the basic building blocks of compliance: Current compliance manuals, employee training, record keeping and a compliance specialist?

BEST PRACTICES

Assume the worst can happen at any time.
Anticipate liability. Assess the risk.
Find the black holes in your supply chain.
Document who is responsible.
Develop processes and procedures.
Identify roles and responsibilities
Train personnel to identify and solve issues.
