  • Responsible -- together with my Lao counterpart -- of the direction of the 5.8-million Euro Project. Duties included administration, personnel and financial management, the general direction of the operation, and all international procurement (through international bidding processes). The programme was covering 7 provinces, 39 districts, and 2,244 villages.
Detailed Description
  • Achievements include, among other things, the reduction of mortality and morbidity due to malaria by over 90%, the protection of approx. 900,000 people under impregnated mosquito nets, and the training in various disciplines of some 6,089 health personnel. The project is remembered in Lao PDR as one of the most successful EU-sponsored projects.
