In her role as corporate counsel at Genus PLC, Sonia Teas focuses on biotechnology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate legal strategy, and commercial contracting. Prior to joining the company in 2011, she was a performance-measurement analyst for the MedStar Research Institute in Washington, D.C. Sonia Teas previously worked as a research assistant at the Chicago-based law firm of Cooney and Conway. In 2017, Seidel Solutions recognized her contributions as a consultant with an Outstanding Performer award.
Sonia Teas holds a bachelor of arts in sociology from Grinnell College, where she was a varsity swimmer and soccer player for four years. In addition to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, she co-founded the Grinnell Ski and Snowboard Club. She received her juris doctor from the University of Wisconsin. Outside of work, Ms. Teas enjoys spending time outdoors, and counts hiking and camping among her leisure activities. A water sports enthusiast, she also enjoys sailing, boating, and waterskiing.
