The recipient of a bachelor's degree in biology from Drake University, Sarat Sabharwal subsequently earned a doctor of medicine (MD) from the University of Iowa. Upon graduating, Sarat Sabharwal, MD, completed a two-year general surgery and four-year urology residencies at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. More recently, he expanded upon his education by completing post-doctoral training in robotic surgery, comprehensive liposuction and fat transfer, and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Sarat Sabharwal obtained licensure from the American Board of Urology in 1999 and, the following year began working as a urologist with Affiliated Urology Specialists in Peoria, Illinois. He later worked in a similar capacity with Midwest Urological Group and Florida Urology Associates. Since 2016, he has worked as section chief of urology at the Orlando VA Medical Center. In addition, he has served as an assistant professor of surgery with the University of Central Florida's College of Medicine since 2013.
Supplementing two decades of medical experience, Dr. Sabharwal holds memberships with the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys skiing and snowboarding.
