Based in California, Sara Townsend is enrolled at the Santa Clara University School of Law and expects to graduate in December 2016. She served as the managing editor of Volume 32 of the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal, and participated on the Honors Moot Court External in the California Bar Student Environment Negotiations Competition. She also won the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Remedies. Sara Townsend gained practical legal experience as a summer associate in intellectual property litigation for Fish & Richardson in Redwood City and as a law clerk in the Oceans Program at the Center for Biological Diversity in Oakland.
Prior to enrolling in law school, she attended the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, where she earned a master’s degree in marine affairs and policy. She has served as a research partner at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a senior policy analyst for the California Coastal Protection Network. She also has functioned as a project manager for the Environmental Science Associates in San Francisco.
