A medical oncologist with the Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings, Nebraska, Dr. Sanda Morar previously served as a physician with Cambridge Medical Center in Minnesota, where she focused on delivering high-quality oncology treatment to people in rural areas of the community. She developed the Cambridge program from a standard medical outreach model to include a broad array of initiatives designed to provide maximum support to patients and their families. Dr. Sanda Morar led a team that expanded not only the medical care available, but also patient education, social support, survivor care, and other types of broader assistance. In addition, she was a cancer liaison physician. In 2013, Dr. Morar’s efforts were the subject of a cover story in Cancer Care Today.

Dr. Sanda Morar was with the Cambridge oncology program when it transitioned to a more collaborative role as a Virginia Piper Cancer Institute site. The VPCI designation recognized the program for its excellence of care and for the high quality of its medical technology.

Dr. Morar’s earlier accomplishments include a position as a medical oncology physician with Mid Illinois Hematology and Oncology Associates, where she treated people presenting with a range of blood disorders and cancers, and where she became highly efficient in managing electronic records using Epic software.

Dr. Sanda Morar earned her medical degree from the highly ranked Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania. After serving as a resident and fellow with Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia, and Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, she began a career that now spans more than two decades.
