A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, Samir Saini holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cum Laude. In the early years of his information technology (IT) career, he completed the IT Leadership Program through General Electric (GE), and served in a series of technical positions with GE in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Atlanta, Georgia. After nearly a decade with GE, Samir Saini became Vice President of Corporate Systems with MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Saini subsequently entered the public sector, serving tenures as Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the Atlanta Housing Authority, IT Commissioner/CIO with the City of Atlanta, and IT Commissioner/CIO with the New York City. He currently provides consulting services to growth-stage tech startups as a Technology Advisor with Sarona Partners.
Over the years, Samir Saini has garnered several professional honors, including a Georgia CIO of Year finalist designation and ranking among GovTech Magazine’s “Top 25 Doers, Dreamers & Drivers.” NJIT named him its “Alumni of the Year” in 2019.
