A graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, Rocky Crabb operated a private law practice that served the greater Los Angeles area for more than a quarter of a century. His areas of expertise included civil law, business law, family law, personal injury, products liability, and Uniform Trade Secret Act issues. Rocky Crabb has also represented clients in a number of criminal law and juvenile law cases. His first appointment to the bench was as a judge pro tem for the counties of Los Angeles and San Bernardino.

Since 2005, Rocky Crabb has served as a court commissioner with the Superior Court of California. Since his election to the court by the judges of the court, he has presided over thousands of cases in areas such as divorce, paternity, and domestic violence. In the execution of his duties Mr. Crabb stresses timeliness and fairness, overseeing all aspects of the cases on his law calendar from pre-trial motions to post-trial hearings.

Commissioner Crabb is humbled by the published comments of attorneys who have appeared before him: "He knows the law and he makes fair rulings." "He's always prepared. He reads everything.   • In January, 2018, Commissioner Rocky L. Crabb was honored to move to a criminal court assignment in the Superior Court for the State of California, East District.
  • Since January, 2018, he now presides over the calendar in Department "S", handling felony preliminary hearings, as well as misdemeanor jury trials, sentencing and probation matters. Those matters include but are not limited to criminal domestic violence, child abuse/cruelty, criminal threats, assault, drug abuse, theft of property, identity theft, driving under the influence, and vehicular manslaughter cases.
  • Commissioner Crabb considers it a privilege to continue to serve as a judicial officer following the mission statement of the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, to be dedicated to serving our community by providing equal access to justice through the fair, timely, and efficient resolution of all cases.
