A postgraduate of the San Diego State University School of Public Health and Health Sciences, Robert D. Johnson of Vero Beach, Florida, has over 30 years of experience in the discipline of physiology of exercise in medicine & sport. He established a clinical practice as an exercise physiologist at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation (La Jolla, CA) in 1980. Mr. Johnson was instrumental in the development of a Human Performance Laboratory, Adult Fitness, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs, Behavioral Medicine Lifestyle programs. He was appointed Director of the Preventive Medicine Center and it's flagship entity The Executive Health Program in 1984.
Robert Johnson was recruited by a North Carolina coalition in 1986 to advance Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Duke Energy Corporation (Charlotte), Duke University (Durham) with adjunct research funding by Johnson & Jonson, Inc. (NJ). His successful charge was developing corporate and university-wide programing and resources within the medical department at Duke Energy and Duke University Medical Center to reach respective coalitions of 20,000 employees each. This experience lead to a post with a J&J, Inc. consulting team to Harvard Business School in program and design to launch The Shad Fitness Center (Boston). Other noted consulting projects in Mr. Johnson's career include Canyon Ranch (Tucson), Princess Cruise Lines (Los Angeles) and The Houstonian (Houston) including private clients, President George H.B. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush.
