- WELDING INSPECTOR
Employed in Strategic Storage Program Project, monitor pipe line welding & Tie-in includes control welding variables and parameters listed in WPS during welding operations of all piping works. Involved in activities welding surveillance/inspection, schedule for NDT, monitor PWHT activities, checked qualification of welders, witness actual welding of test specimen for PQR and WQT and make sure it is in accordance with procedure. In process welding surveillance to verify compliance with specified procedure including preheats, inter pass temperature control and post heat requirements Check that all equipment and inspection instruments are calibrated. Maintaining records of calibration, inspection and testing equipment. Manage quality activities at site related to Welding and NDE. Monitor pipe spool fabrication and installation in relation to fit ups, dimensions, alignments and distortion. Check joint fit up, bevel angle, root gap, root face and alignment of pipes before welding in all phases of fabrication.
PIPING INSPECTOR
Monitor Hydro test, heat shrink sleeves, holiday test & includes dimensioning of fabricated spools as well as checking the orientation prior to release for welding. Inspect that each piece of pipe is marked with corresponding traceability before cutting, verifying piping material identity (pipe, valves and fittings) and its conformance to installation/erection drawings. Performing piping walk down inspection and completing punch list. Ensure contractor’s dimensional control methods for checking that all works are properly set-out and satisfactory. Verifications that dimensions fit up and weld preparations are in accordance with WPS and drawings. Do line checking of pipes and prepare punch list items before releasing to hydro test, witnessed pressure testing of lines as well as pneumatic inspection and air drying and blowing of pipes. Do reinstatement of lines after hydro test and pneumatic inspection. Inspection and close out system punch list.
