Commanding more than two decades in consulting international entities and analyzing corporate legal projects, Rebecca Gaskin Gain has significant experience working with African and European governments and corporations. As a principal of Nexant, Inc., Rebecca Gaskin Gain assists private and public entities involved in the energy sectors of developing African markets. She draws on her extensive experience working as an independent corporate advisor in developing nations throughout Africa, including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Kenya.
Her international business experience includes working as a director for the African Division of the Standard Bank Group in London, along with serving as a privatization advisor for the Ministry of Finance in Uganda. She was also the managing director for Standard Bank Congo in Kinshasa, DRC. In 2013, she was the recipient of a Presidential Award of Gold Medal from the DRC for civic merit.
A cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, Rebecca Gaskin Gain earned a BA in history and was a harpist for the university’s symphonic orchestra. She holds a juris doctor from Emory University and completed the third-year law curriculum from Columbia University. After law school, she completed the Foundations in Finance program at the Amsterdam Institute of Finance. She also studied Arabic at the Yemen College of Middle Eastern Studies and began PhD coursework in research at the Insaniah University of Malaysia.
