As Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Celsion Corporation in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Raj Prabhakar directs business development and out-licensing for the company. He also oversees project management focused on accelerating the commercialization of Celsion’s lead liver-cancer drug candidate. The company engages in the proprietary development of oncology drugs for recurrent breast cancer at the chest wall, as well as primary liver cancer. As a member of the senior management team, Raj Prabhakar assists in multiple activities for drug commercialization and global partnership.
Before joining Celsion, Raj Prabhakar served as Director of Corporate Development at Osiris Therapeutics, Inc., a Maryland-based regenerative medicine and stem-cell therapeutics clinical development company. He assisted the management team in restructuring and turning around the startup. In addition to Osiris, Mr. Prabhakar served as Director of Corporate Development for Protiveris Inc., a diagnostic producer of micro-electromechanical systems and nanoarray biosensors used to develop protein-based drugs. Raj Prabhakar graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Biology, and also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
