As the chief administrative officer of the University of Miami (U of M) Health System, Rafic Warwar draws upon years of experience in the US Air Force. Rafic Warwar served tenures as administrator of clinical operations and professional services, as well as chief financial officer and chief of human resources. Rafic Warwar cites the commitment to discipline and communication skills that he learned in the Air Force as key factors that garnered him success throughout his healthcare management career. Over his 21 years of military service Mr. Warwar received multiple honors and distinctions to include officer of the year, young healthcare executive of the year and has been recognized for his distinguished service through the award of the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal on three occasions as well as the Air Force Commendation Medal on three occasions. Rafic Warwar began his civilian career with U of M as vice chairman of the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery in the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine before assuming a position as senior associate dean and chief operating officer of the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and most recently as chief administrative officer of the U of M Health System.
