Allocate work to shop staff. Prepare reports (daily, weekly, monthly). Post time taken and time sale by mechanics on cars’ job cards. Perform billing functions on job cards that are completed. Coordinate work with reception, foremen, warranty, and quality control. Follow-up parts requirements. Prepare internal and external requisitions. Make overtime reports, pending parts reports, daily incoming and outgoing vehicle reports. Process cash, internal, warranty, credit, and PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) job cards.
Uses the AS400 software and Kerridge Automotive System.
Process documentation (requisitions, issues, receipts, care and preservation work orders, location assignments, etc.). Reviews documentation for correctness to include detailed editing. Reviews material, received and for issues, for correct application by use of general knowledge, local publications, catalogs, technical manuals, and recommends substitute items, if necessary to meet requirements. Assists warehouse personnel in stock selection and makes stock identifications on a routine or as needed basis. Conducts initial investigation involving overages, shortages, warehouse denials and reports or refers results to supervisor.
Create a spare parts store system for a fleet of fifty+++ company cars. Maintain stock of fast moving items like oil filters, drive belts, brake pads, and lubricants. Make requisitions for specific part needs, stock items, shop equipment and tools. Process work orders for vehicles indicating the work description, the service needed as per mileage, specific jobs, parts details and prices, and manhours usage. Follows up requisitions with the purchases and discusses parts requirements with parts dealers and mechanics. Makes daily and weekly reports on shop work. Submits/updates monthly inventory of parts stock items. Contacts/reminds vehicle drivers and/or dispatcher when their cars are due for service.
Receives and reviews SROs/MRIDs documents for material, items, parts in support of maintenance , construction, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and transportation equipment. Screens material requirements, conducts extensive research of various technical publications and references such as Master Cross Reference List, Navy Management Data List, Manufacturer’s Manuals Catalogues, Parts List, Shop Store Stock Catalogue and provides proper identification and supply information. Reviews high priority documents and determines adequacy of procurement information and justifications and/or possible substitution of items to preclude CONUS procurement.
