An experienced research assistant, Rachel Deis is a 2017 graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she earned a bachelor of science in biological sciences with a concentration in pathology, minoring in sociology and Judaic studies. At the school, she made the dean’s list on four separate occasions and received several academic scholarships and awards. While completing her studies, Rachel Deis served in a work-study position with the school’s biology department.
Since completing her degree, Deis has moved to Israel, where she is continuing her studies in languages at Hadassah College. Upon completing her studies in Israel, Deis hopes to leverage her research background and language studies to gain acceptance into medical school.
Prior to traveling abroad, she served in research roles at Drexel and Lankenau Medical Center, participating in sociology and clinical research trials, respectively. In her work at Drexel as a research assistant, she helped examine the HIV-related stigmas that Philadelphia-area African Americans face.
