An executive with JAFRA, Pragna Chakravarti is a Southern California-based pharmaceutical chemist with more than three decades of experience in her field. Serving as chief scientific officer and senior vice president of worldwide research and development, Pragna Chakravarti guides the formulation of cosmetics that combine technological innovation with a focus on "simple and effective” product solutions.
Ms. Chakravarti has consistently worked to launch and refine new product lines, which now span markets in North America, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Among her accomplishments was undertaking dedicated research into the honey bee product known as royal jelly and its chemical components, which enabled creation of the pioneering Royal Jelly Lift Concentrate in the early 2000s. She also had a vital role in the development of a 2007 JAFRA Dynamics product line that employs Intellishield technologies.
Originally from India, Ms. Chakravarti completed her pharmacy degree at Jadavpur University in Calcutta and went on to study cosmetic science at St. Johns University in New York. Pragna Chakravarti gained early experience as a cosmetics-focused scientist with Revlon Research Center.
