As a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 110 in Albany and Schenectady Counties, Phillip Steck draws on more than 30 years of experience practicing law. He began preparing for his career at Harvard College, where he served as an intern in the office of Congressman Benjamin S. Rosenthal and wrote for the Harvard International Review. Phillip Steck then enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania Law School to pursue his JD, during which time he participated in the National Moot Court Competition and was an editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.

After receiving his degree, Phillip Steck became an assistant district attorney. He served in both Rensselaer County and New York County, where he focused on felony narcotics cases. In 1991, he became a member of the law firm of Cooper Erving and Savage LLP.

As a partner in the firm, Mr. Steck litigates a broad range of employment, civil rights, and commercial matters. A multi-year member of Hudson Valley Super Lawyers, he regularly lectures on civil rights and employment law before organizations and professional associations.
