The recipient of a bachelor of science in management from St. John's University, Paul Gilvary also holds a master of science in secondary education from the New York-based school. While pursuing his degrees, Paul Gilvary worked as a junior varsity basketball coach at two New York-area schools and served as the director of a basketball camp.
Paul Gilvary worked full-time at a Flushing, New York, school from 1985 to 2012 in a variety of capacities, including 19 years as director of admissions and eight years as an algebra and geometry teacher. As of 2018, he is a full-time math teacher at St. Raymond High School for Boys.
Throughout his career in education, Mr. Gilvary has maintained involvement in youth athletics. He is the basketball and soccer chairman for the Catholic High School Athletic Association and baseball umpire assigner for the Public Schools Athletic League, through which he also recruits and trains umpires.
