Paul C. Kuo MD

An experienced surgeon and medical researcher, Paul C. Kuo, MD, earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University before completing his postdoctoral training with internships, residencies, and fellowships at Harvard Medical School. In addition to his medical training, Paul C. Kuo, MD, draws upon education received while completing an MBA at Johns Hopkins University, a master’s degree in medical informatics at Northwestern University, and a master’s degree in predictive analytics at DePaul University.

A contributing author to hundreds of research papers and clinical studies, Paul C. Kuo, MD, serves on the editorial boards for peer-reviewed medical journals such as the Journal of Transplantation and the World Journal of Experimental Medicine. He also stands out as a prominent member of numerous professional medical societies, including the Society of University Surgeons and the Society of Asian Academic Surgeons, which he previously led as president.

Currently, Paul C. Kuo, MD, leads as the tenured Richard G. Connar Endowed Chair in Surgery at the University of South Florida-Tampa General Hospital. Prior to joining the university, he led as chair of surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and as chief of the division of general surgery at Duke University, where he managed a department with a budget of more than $30 million and 55 full-time faculty members.
