As the founder and CEO of BCA Architects, Paul Bunton leads a staff of over 30 professionals in four California offices. Since creating the firm in 1988, Paul Bunton has taken the design lead on projects totaling over $1 billion in the educational, commercial, religious, and healthcare sectors.
In receiving approval for projects, Paul Bunton engages with all involved stakeholders, from neighbors, community members, planning commissioners, and city council members. In 2014, he and his firm received approval from the City of San Jose to build a $25 million assisted living and memory care facility. The facility, which was completed a year later, included unique design elements such as a distance-learning classroom and a resident-run garden. It was also strategically located near medical office buildings, Santa Clara Medical Center, a Community College, and a retail shopping center.
Under Paul Bunton's leadership, BCA has also designed healthcare related projects such as Hospice of Napa Valley and the Long Beach City College Nursing & Health Technology building. He also designed the company's San Jose headquarters which, in 2011, received the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's Green Project of the Year award.
