An experienced general surgeon, Pachavit Kasemsap, MD, has a long history of clinical practice, both in the private and military sectors. He was an active duty flight surgeon at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada from 1993 to 1996, an Air Force chief of general surgery with the 121st General Hospital in South Korea from 2001 to 2002, and a surgeon at Eglin Air Force Base from 2002 to 2006. While serving at Eglin, Pachavit Kasemsap, MD, ascended to the rank of lieutenant colonel and completed a deployment to the Middle East as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Pachavit Kasemsap’s administrative career includes tenures as associate medical director of MCCI in Jacksonville, Florida, and medical director of WellMed Medical Management in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. He served as senior medical director of Highmark from January of 2018 to June of 2019. This position placed Dr. Pachavit Kasemsap in charge of a national network of contracted and employed physician groups that care for more than 260,000 Medicare Advantage members.
