He's crafting a progressive metal album, which he releases in a distinctive phased approach, with a new song debuting each week.
Oliver’s channel, @oliverscope on YouTube, features many practice compositions, demonstrating his versatility and ongoing commitment to musical exploration and excellence. Music has been a central element of his life since he was very young, displaying early on a strong affinity for pitch and rhythm, an exceptional memory for various musical styles, and a powerful emotional connection to music. At just four years old, he took up guitar and has become proficient in multiple instruments, including acoustic Eric bass guitars and drums. He is also an accomplished vocalist.
During his formative years, Oliver was part of the prestigious Sydney Region Band—now known as the Sydney Southeast Symphonic Winds ensemble. This group, comprising over a hundred of the region's most talented young musicians, performed at notable venues like the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall, offering him early exposure to high-profile performance environments.
Oliver excelled in music throughout his schooling, topping his music class in high school and capturing audiences with his performances at renowned venues, including the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Region Band and the Metro Theatre with Aurox, a band celebrated for its innovative approach to rock music.
Oliver now spends much of his time in his home studio in Orange, where he records original compositions. He plans to expand his musical career by opening a commercial music studio to offer professional audio engineering and production services and his expertise as a session musician.
Oliver’s academic journey includes studies at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney. He is advancing his education at TAFE NSW, pursuing a Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business, which will prepare him for future entrepreneurial ventures in the music industry.
Beyond music, Oliver is passionate about various activities that complement his musical career, such as art, weightlifting, martial arts, yoga, and chess. His participation in martial arts has garnered him several awards, and these activities contribute to his discipline and focus, enhancing his music production.
