- Project title: Nanoporous anodic alumina photonic crystals for optical sensing applications. Supervisor: Dr. Abel Santos
- Conducted electropolishing processes with aluminium (Al) chips, fabricated nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) by electrochemical anodization and distributed Bragg reflectors (DBR) nanostructures by applying 40 pulse cycles of anodization
- Performed pore widening processes by wet chemical etching in phosphoric acid (H3PO4), conducted sputter deposition with gold (Au) by utilizing a sputter coater
- Carried out structural characterizations by using digital camera, obtained transmission spectra by using UV-Vis-near-IR spectroscopy, constructed graphs through Origin 8.0 software
- Supported an additional research project for one senior researcher
