A writer and news anchor with the online media outlet NewsBeat Social, Neela Eyunni researches and reports news stories that strive to engage a global audience. She concurrently directs communication strategies as a remote contractor with The Prusten Project, an innovative multidisciplinary scientific project that studies the social vocal communications of tigers. Neela Eyunni’s duties with The Prusten Project range from crafting press releases to reaching out to the general public as a creator of social media content.
Neela Eyunni also spearheads the production of documentary films as the founder of Roja Earth Productions. Focusing on the creation of films with specific messages about natural conservation, Roja Earth recently produced On the Brink - Uncharted Waters. Ms. Eyunni wrote, narrated, and produced this San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival award winner. She is also handling the film’s marketing and distribution. To date, the film has aired on multiple global National Geographic Channel affiliates.
Created Roja Earth Productions (“REP”), a production company dedicated to producing documentary films with a message about conservation, including On the Brink: Uncharted Waters. REP is prompting new national legislation to regulate the marine ecotourism industry in the Philippines by exposing the negative impacts that provisioning (in Oslob, Cebu) is having on whale sharks. Working with our official partner Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines to standardize marine wildlife interaction guidelines in the Philippines. Promoting greater awareness and conservation of the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines with our official partner the SEA-VIP Institute. This includes cooperating to put on conservation events in the Philippines and the U.S. and supporting educational outreach programs.
