I have a great eye for fashion, a certificate in Fashion Merchandising , I have also completed my National Diploma in Retail Business Management. I am currently employed at Woolworths as an Assistant Buyer for Boys Accessories.
I am a creative with a focus on sourcing trends, understanding the customer, and translating this to successful sales of the brand. This requires knowledge of the LSM and key insights of our customer.
• Assist Fashion Director and Fashion Editor in producing a 10-page fashion feature: Sending out briefs and follow up with calls to ensure retailers are sending merchandise for shoots. • Assist with the sourcing of fashion items • Liaise with the Johannesburg fashion team • Organise and reconcile petty cash monthly • Compiling credits and stockists for the 10 page fashion feature. • Produced various upfront fashion pages: 1 x Budget Page + 1 x Most Wanted + 2 x Shop Like A Star (Trend and Celebrity) Or Fashion Workshop (finds four “real women” to model, women who actually fit Cosmopolitan’s target demographic). • Compiles “The Look” page, writing the copy as well as sourcing and shooting for it. • Assist in ensuring all fashion in the magazine is the best it can be: • Source and shoot fashion items needed by the editorial department to illustrate an article. • Maintain good relationships with clients. • Attending launches as well as representing the magazine at various networking opportunities.
