Minto Jain earned his MD at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. After graduating in 1992, he spent several years at McMaster University where he served as a fellow first in general surgery, and then in critical care. After completing his fellowship, Minto Jain taught for a decade at his alma mater, serving as an assistant professor of surgery. Throughout this period, he served as an attending surgeon at Kingston General Hospital. He holds a masters in health professional education from the University of Illinois, Chicago and has been received multiple awards for his clinical instruction.
Concurrent to his almost quarter century career as a doctor, Minto Jain served as the CEO of the Jain Group of companies, and was the principal and operator of three retirement homes. He also served as a broker of commercial real estate, working first with Royal Lepage, and then with the Kingsway Real Estate Brokerage – a firm he continues to work at. Leaving his position at Queens in 2009, he leveraged his experience running and expanding businesses, his medical experience, and his experience as a real estate broker to run a successful medical imaging firm, Medical Imaging Centers Inc.
In his spare time, Minto Jain enjoys running, and has run the Mississauga Half Marathon on three occasions. He also enjoys cycling, and regularly goes on cycling trips. Minto also participated in the Ride for Karen, a 100 Km bicycle ride to raise money for cancer research.
