Michael Luna has engaged with Aliphcom (dba Jawbone) as chief technology officer (CTO) and has been the primary or supporting inventor on more than 80 patents. With an emphasis on utilizing intellectual property, that solves real problems for real people, to build a solid foundation that can be leveraged for growth at companies such as Jawbone, Michael Luna has set in place patent portfolios independently valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Mr. Luna’s background includes a position as senior technical team member with AT&T Wireless Services and SBC Technology Resources, Inc. He guided the architecture of PocketNet(r) (with AT&T), a pioneering data-capable browser phone service.
He subsequently engaged with 724 Solutions, Inc., in Santa Barbara as CTO and oversaw a full range of product management, business development, and technology-focused activities. His accomplishments included repositioning the product base toward an emerging “convergence marketplace” and developing a trio of projects that were honored at the 2006 CTIA Emerging Technology Awards.
Mr. Luna enjoys activities such as fishing and hunting in his free time and keeps bees.
