Focused on the civil litigation and commercial bankruptcy sphere, Michael Guyerson handles complex cases throughout the Rocky Mountain West and is known for his experience in assisting private and public companies in corporate restructuring both within and outside of bankruptcy processes.
Mr. Guyerson has represented diverse clients in bankruptcy matters over the course of his career, from trustee and creditors’ committees to debtors. Among the noteworthy cases he has taken a lead role in was the breach of partnership and fraud suit “Re S & D Foods, Inc. 144 B.R. 121, 158” (Bankr. D. Colo. 1992). The case went through two weeks of trial proceedings and was decided in bankruptcy court with an $11.4 million verdict in favor of his client.
Mr. Guyerson has been recognized by more than two dozen of his peers through an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell.* Widely published in his field, he authored “Bad Boy Guarantees, Know What To Do When The Lender Comes For You!” (The Colorado Lawyer, Vol. 42, No. 9, September, 2013). Michael Guyerson’s pro bono work in bankruptcy matters has twice earned him the Donald E. Cordova Faculty of Federal Advocates Distinguished Service Award.
