Clinical psychologist Maurice Prout, PhD, collaborates with colleagues and teaches future professionals as an active member of regional and national communities of psychologists. A professor of psychology at Widener University since 1989, he currently serves as a director for The Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener, where he concentrates on research and education in cognitive/behavior therapy and brief psychotherapy. Dr. Maurice Prout teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses at Widener. He also belongs to several university committees and boards, among them the Widener Institutional Review Board.

Outside of the university setting, Dr. Maurice Prout participates in the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT) and the American Psychological Association (APA). He serves as a founding member of the ACT and a participant in the APA’s Clinical, Health, Psychotherapy, Neuropsychology, and Rehabilitation divisions. A licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey, he maintains clinical diplomate status with the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Prout previously held governor appointments on the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology and the Pennsylvania Vietnam Veterans Health Initiative Commission.
