Based in York, Maurice Leverne Huggins maintains responsibilities with the South Carolina Department of Social Services as a case manager and human service specialist. A focus for Maurice Leverne Huggins centers on assessing risks and ensuring the safety of children and families. He also works with clients in developing effective treatment plans and ensuring that adequate resources are in place.
Through his evaluation of neglect and abuse situations, Mr. Huggins has given diverse people the means to live independently and safely. He often works in tandem with law enforcement authorities and attorneys in initiating court proceedings.
Mr. Huggins has volunteered at a variety of political events, and served as assistant campaign manager in 2016 with the local sheriff’s election. From 1993 to 1997, he served in the US Navy as a supply department and cargo specialist, and was tasked with ensuring proper supply chain functioning both at sea and on land.
