About Me
For more than two decades, Mark Klinedinst has served as a professor at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Department of Economics in Hattiesburg, MS. With an emphasis on teaching and research, he is also past chair of the school’s Department of Economics, Finance and International Business. Mark Klinedinst’s authored works include Cooperative Comebacks: Resilience in the Face of the Hurricane Katrina Catastrophe, a monograph for the Filene Research Institute. He was also co-guest editor of the publication Advances in the Economic Analysis of Participatory and Labor-Managed Firms (Lexington Books, 2006).

Mr. Klinedinst completed his PhD in economics at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he gained experience as a teaching assistant. He instructed at Carleton College prior to joining the University of Southern Mississippi in 1986. A native of Maryland, Mr. Klinedinst maintains a longstanding community commitment that includes work with Habitat for Humanity and Agricultural Cooperatives. He is also co-founder and former president of the Pine Belt Farmers' and Artisans Market, and sits on the board of the farmer’s market in Hattiesburg, MS.
