Company Description
To the traditional skills of the Conseil général (local roads, towns assistance, tourism development...) new responsibilities were added in 1982. Thanks to the decentralization, the Conseil général has become the main actor of solidarity by organizing and financing the community care in the department. Managing secondary schools, coordinating and financing interurban transport and school buses are parts of its competence. The local archives and the local library loan are also under the responsibility of the Conseil général. However, its action can not be limited to only those mandatory tasks. It intervenes in every sector that contribute to improve the daily life : town and country planning, housing, environment, culture, sports, economic development, higher education and research.
