Context: As part of my third-year project, I independently designed and implemented qualitative research on international students' experience of dating in the UK.
Action:
I liaised with my supervisor keeping him informed while conducting the research
I obtained ethical approval from the university's ethics committee
I recruited five participants using snowball sampling
I conducted in-depth interviews with five participants lasting between 15 minutes and one hour, demonstrating excellent communication skills and much empathy and sensitivity for their concerns
I transcribed these interviews and analysed them using Grounded Theory
I used theoretical coding, memoing, and mindmaps as part of my analysis
I developed a model of acculturation for international students
I wrote up a 7000-word research report

My project was novel in researching this particular area and its findings contribute to better understand the experiences of international students.

Worked in a team to independently design and produce two promotional videos for international students. The videos detail the arrivals process for new international students at the university and promote student life.
We attended a training with BBC Voices Norwich to learn the basics of video production.
We used professional video equipment to record views of the campus and conduct interviews with students.
We also wrote detailed scripts, used video editing software to cut and edit scenes, and made voiceovers.
The reception was very positive and the videos are now published on the university's website for new international students to see.
Context: Independently designed and conducted a qualitative anthropological research project on the role of ethnic identity in Asian student culture.

Lukas Holschuh untersucht in seiner Seminararbeit die Auswirkungen und Folgen der Israelischen Sperranlage auf politischer und sozialer Ebene. Seine Arbeit ist ein Appell zum Frieden an zwei Nationen, die sich gegenseitig einmauern, an eine gescheiterte Politik der Terrorbekämpfung, die den Konflikt zwischen den beiden Völkern nur noch mehr anheizt, und an die Politiker und Staaten dieser Welt, die tatenlos zusehen, wie Israel ein ganzes Volk terrorisiert.
