Provide for security, safety and direct supervision of offenders in a correctional facility.
Escort offenders to/from different areas, break up fights, effectively restrain offenders by using handcuffs or other restraints, aid in preventing escapes, and perform routine pat searches.
Weapons qualification

Verfiy in-coming shipments against receiving documents; note and report discrepancies or damages.
Label and issue clothing and shoes inmates/residents entering the program in accordance with established procedures.
Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports to include current list of inmate and supply items.
Process reports and documents in a timely manner.
Alternate Safety Manager - investigate incidents, accidents or injuries; compile and submit reports and conduct fire drills.

Monitor activities and routinely inspect facility operations for compliance with applicable fire, safety and sanitation policies, law and codes.
Detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, report hazards, violations or deficiencies in accordance with company policies and procedures; recommend corrective or preventive measures where indicated.
Provide related technical advice to department supervisors.
Investigate incidents, conduct fire drills, verify all employees complete the required initial and on-going fire/safety training/sanitation training, chair Team Safety committee meetings.
Fit test employees required to wear a respirator.
Inspect above ground storage tank for compliance.
