Linda Gottwald

Serving the public as a nurse practitioner and journalist, Dr. Linda Gottwald has positively influenced countless lives. As an Advanced Practiced Registered Nurse, Dr. Gottwald currently serves on staff at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. In addition, she shares her skills and experience as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern Michigan College School of Nursing. Prior to these positions, Dr. Gottwald spent over three years working as an Emergency Room Nurse in Georgia, and 11 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Florida.

A former journalist and current freelance writer, Dr. Linda Gottwald has previously written for several newspapers, including The Oakland Tribune, The Milwaukee Journal, and a daily paper in Florida. She has written for USA Today and The San Francisco Chronicle. Dr. Gottwald earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley and a Doctorate of Nursing from Rush University in Chicago. Her writing typically involves the health care industry; Dr. Gottwald is an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship winner in the field of Health and Medicine Policy Research. Also at the convergence of her health career and writing career, Dr. Gottwald received a Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Fellowship for health reporting.

Apart from her formal employment, Dr. Linda Gottwald holds a passion for animal welfare. She is a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and she has dedicated numerous volunteer hours to the general cause. Because of her hard work, Dr. Gottwald received recognition for her community service work of bringing animal therapy services to residents of Chicago with the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society.
