A national merit scholar and a graduate of Yale University, Lia Dean earned her BA in history and completed internships at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Ruder Finn, CNN, and the Wall Street Journal. Later, Lia Dean continued her studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management, earning her MBA in marketing and becoming a distinguished Siebel Scholar. At MIT, she founded Fifteen Magazine, a student newspaper.
After launching her career in marketing and sales with CashEdge, Inc., in New York City, Ms. Dean became a partner at McKinsey & Company. There she advised executives on marketing initiatives, drawing on her experience in areas including consumer insights and product development. Subsequently, Ms. Dean joined Capital One, where she continues to serve as a senior vice president of national expansion.
Alongside her career, Lia Dean has contributed her time to organizations that support young children, including Room to Grow, a nonprofit that promotes early education. She previously served on the national board of Zero to Three, which advocates for children's nurturing through the first three years of their lives.
