As an investment banking professional, Lawrence Zirkel has built more than 23 years of industry experience. He began his career as an assistant trader with Kidder, Peabody & Co before transitioning into institutional sales and trading with Instinet Corporation, in which role he facilitated hedge fund and mutual fund transactions and drove the turnaround of under-producing accounts. Subsequently named senior vice president at Lynch, Jones & Ryan, Inc., Lawrence Zirkel leveraged his knowledge of mutual funds and institutional hedge funds to develop new accounts and drive new revenue.
Lawrence Zirkel went on to serve as vice president and senior institutional sales trader with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg. Effective in using institutional hedge funds and mutual funds to become a top producer within the firm, he also ranked among a select group of sales traders retained following Goldman Sachs acquisition of the company.
In 2002, Lawrence Zirkel became managing partner and head of sales and trading for Avian Securities, a brokerage firm focused on the technology sector. He went on to generate a sizable percentage of firm revenue, while simultaneously managing institutional trading and sales. He went on to similar success as Senior Vice President and later as Managing Director for Brean Capital, where he promoted revenue growth through the creation of key industry relationships.
