- Created the department of human resources. Mrs. Varela Fallas developed the set of procedures that would preside the hiring, management, training, and dismissal of human
- Financial responsibilities included managing accounts receivable and payable along the payroll activities resorting to Quicken software.
- Mrs. Varela Fallas was also assigned the responsibility of planning coordinating and executing wedding receptions both for nationals as well as for foreigners that increasingly chose Costa Rica as wedding destination.
