A property rental and development company with a portfolio of over 40 rental properties and more than 10 development projects, with operations in Costa Rica and Panama.

A commercial lender focused on short and mid-term loans for the real estate industry. With operations in Costa Rica registered under SUGEF and in Panama under a Financial Lender license regulated by the SBP.
iCúbica: 2016 – Present
A real estate rental property and real estate project development management company, including architecture and design services, with operations in Costa Rica and Panama.

Exclusive Latin America distributor of Italy based V-Shapes. A company specialized in the development of innovative solutions for the world of packaging, including a revolutionary patented single-dose sachet.
Mrs. Varela Fallas oversees the operations of these companies while being responsible for planning their operations and attracting alliances that facilitate achievement of their growth strategies. Together they represent over US$200 million in revenues providing direct employment to over 300 people.
Primarily responsible for strategic planning, oversight and co-ordination of activities relating to acquisition and development of land, buildings, corporate entities, and functional components related to Real Estate and Development projects in Costa Rica.
Mrs. Varela Fallas bears ultimate responsibility to ensure that land assets are free and clear from competing title claims and that necessary permits have been issued for a given proposed usage. Her role demands acute planning and coordination skills so as to warrant the transformation of projects into functioning premises. Mrs. Varela Fallas thus needs to bring together in a same effort infrastructure engineers; architects and designers and make sure that their efforts fit the master development plan within the selected time frame and the planned use of resources as to protect profitability.
Reporting to Regional Director. Mrs. Varela Fallas was entrusted with brand protection responsibilities entailing the continuing oversight of quality standards and effective service that define UPS in the logistics space.
Day to day tasks involved planning, implementing and ongoing refinement and assessment of employee relations. Human resource policies needed also to comply with company standards and laws and regulations in each jurisdiction being overseen by Mrs. Varela Fallas. Key projects included establishing ongoing recruiting guidelines and skill testing parameters. Yet another responsibility was to provide managers with the tools to better access talented resources; support skill development and apply in fair and just fashion disciplinary measures. This responsibility was discharged through coaching and guidance.
Mrs. Varela Fallas represented UPS in national chambers and trade associations while attending specialized courses to keep herself abreast of changes in human resources legislation and regulations in each jurisdiction she over sought. She also represented the company at labor arbitrages and any legal proceedings touching upon labor and human resource development issues.
Created the department of human resources. Mrs. Varela Fallas developed the set of procedures that would preside the hiring, management, training, and dismissal of human
Financial responsibilities included managing accounts receivable and payable along the payroll activities resorting to Quicken software.
Mrs. Varela Fallas was also assigned the responsibility of planning coordinating and executing wedding receptions both for nationals as well as for foreigners that increasingly chose Costa Rica as wedding destination. Her perfectionist approach to these activities earned her the responsibility of becoming the manager for any special event that had the hotel as a site.
