Kurian Thott, MD, FACOG, is the chief of the Department of OB/GYN and CEO of the Women’s Health and Surgery Center at Stafford Hospital in Stafford, Virginia. Dr. Kurian Thott has served in these roles since 2009 and 2008, respectively.
In 2013, Dr. Thott led Stafford Hospital through the accreditation process of becoming a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG). He remains the COEMIG program director for the hospital’s broader network, Mary Washington Healthcare.
In addition to his work with Stafford Hospital, Dr. Thott is the founder and medical director for instaRounds, LLC. Under his leadership, the company developed the instaRounds mobile app, which helps physicians follow appointments, communicate with each other, and easily share information. Dr. Thott is also active on various industry boards and committees, including as a member and committee chair of the Mary Washington Health Alliance and as a founding member and director of the Women’s Surgical Institute.
Dr. Thott’s work has earned him multiple awards over the span of his 16-year career. These include the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS)’s Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery award and the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy (AAGL)’s Special Excellence in Laparoscopic Procedures award, among others.
In his free time, Dr. Thott enjoys traveling, golfing, reading about the latest advancements in technology, cooking, and watching the Green Bay Packers play.
