Working at SADAF plant, as Sr Process Engineer (Central), beside working with both hydrocarbon & non-hydrocarbon area teams on assigned tasks, main responsibility also covers the complete Water treatment at SADAF site, these include areas like, Cooling Tower, Demin plant, Boilers, HRSG, Incinerators, Close loop cooling system, chilled water systems, sea water cooling circuit, coolers etc.
o Ensuring planned progress with respect to the engineering deliverables for Projects, process engineering works, preparation of progress reports, utilization of resources effectively & efficiently.
o Support basic engineering design pkgs, feed or detailed studies at plant side, including plant modifications.
o Perform process and economic evaluation to estimate plant modification or MOCs.
o Compile & Summarize analysis / findings in weekly report, (Executive Dashboard) for higher management.
o Conduct Technology screening study to evaluate available technologies at plant.
o Provide support, services & troubleshoot problems that arise with water or water treatment, including scaling, corrosion etc.
o Assist in improving the quality of water and reducing treatment costs. Also inspect and review operating activities and controls,
o Participated in RCAs and HAZOP reviews and qualified / certified in both.
o Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
o Participate in RCA conducted at site as subject expert or member.
o Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and water treatment companies, to provide new, more innovative and cost effective solutions to old as well as new problem areas. Concept development of all the facilities.
o Technical Contract drafting & bid review for two major contracts revised i.e, water treatment, Chemical cleaning at Sabic.
o Engineering documents review, HAZOP participation and follow-up,
o Steer Sadaf Water Steering committee (SWSC) meeting with all stake holder on monthly basis.
o Provide process inputs and engineering solution to when and where required.
o Handled tasks of determining optimized technical solution to meet operational requirements and ensure smooth plant operations.
o Disseminate knowledge and expertise to affiliates personnel through training, troubleshooting and various networking activities.

ARL Up-gradation Project ($251 million): Existing Refinery capacity increase & enabling it to produce Euro II complaint low Sulfur Diesel.
New Units: Diesel Hydro Desulfurization (DHDS), Naphtha Isomerization (ISOM), Preflash & Power Plant. Auxiliary units: Amine (AMU), Sour Water (SWS), Hydrogen (HYU), Sulfur Recovery (SRU). Utility systems: Boilers, Cooling water, Fuel oil, Inst. Air, Flare System, WHR.
o Throughout the Refinery Up Gradation project, succeeded in providing complete Process / Project Engineering support to the Corporation in ALL above mentioned process areas/ units, during complete project lifecycle
(Scope of work  FEED Study  Detailed Engineering  Construction  Q.A/Q.C  Commissioning  Performance Testing).
o Manage project related queries from all stake holders, Contractor (Hyundai Engineering), Subcontractors & Licensor (UOP).
o Strengthen Owner side interests with respect to the operability & maintainability of new refinery units in close liaison with other refinery departments including Operations, Engineering, IT, Maintenance, Quality Assurance & HSE sections.
o Lead Owner’s team during complete Pre Commissioning / Commissioning activities of all units by contractor (HEC). And ensure that commissioning, performance testing & final handover takes place in an acceptable way to the owner.
o Demonstrated to be the single point of contact for all contractor/ sub contractor project disciplines, including: Process/ Civil/ Mechanical/ E&I/ Commissioning/ Project control / HSE teams for solving their daily / technical inquires.
o Review & Comment all contractors submitted documents/ Procedures incl. Pre commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up procedures, technical scope, design base narratives, P&IDs, PFDs, Piping Isometrics, Equipment specifications /drawings, etc. Also provide support on design matters during detailed engineering & commissioning stage in order to ensure, they meet contractual obligations.
o Chairs regular in-house meetings with other project/contractor reps as required. Proactively identify /follow up highlighted issues & lead efforts to resolve them. Monitor & reports project schedule, cost status & time constraints for project timely completion.
o Administer complete construction work Quality & Accuracy at site & regularly participate during predefined inspections.
o Prepare Reports, Flow diagrams, Technical Presentations & charts. Along with managing changes in work scope. Monitor/evaluate equipment performances, troubleshoot equipment problems, collect & maintain data records to ensure control & tractability,
o Assuming responsibility for performing continual Risk Assessment, hazard analysis (PHA) / HAZOP studies & ensuring proper HSE protocols as per company policy are met at site. Provide lead role in energy improvement initiatives & environmental monitoring.
o Evaluate & enhances company’s complex production processes in order to maximize efficiency, minimize waste / costs & improve outputs at company level. Review plant change requests (PCR) to provide technical inputs & generate ideas for unit optimization.
o Ensuring implementation & compliance to Company’s Policies, procedures & Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) initiatives.
o Maintain knowledge of developments in refinery technologies, as to identify savings/improvement opportunities & solve technical & resource-limitation problems for deriving maximum benefits. Hands on experience on various process simulation tools.

  o Mentor the work of Design department incl. (6 Design Engineers, 6 Proposal Engineers, 2 Drafters). Remodeled performance reviews & staff assignments. Prepared manpower forecasting, budget requests & administer dept. budget in assigned areas of responsibility.
  o Developed long & short term master strategic plans, proposals & synergy studies in order to identify company’s growth opportunities & enhance profitability margins. Ensured HSE aspects & technology advancement are accounted for during project phase.

  Visited multiple Libyan Oil & Gas sector industries, as Company’s first ever representative in that region. Was successful in generating new & multiple business inquiries (proposals) during the first visit.

o Administer complete technical /operational support & to Lead business driven technical coordination as part of multi-disciplined team.
o Writing technical reports, business correspondences & procedures. In addition to dealing with system or engineering issues at field.

o Performed process engineering calculations & performance analysis of all refinery equipment’s. Conducting regular performance Test Runs & contributed in various optimization studies. Full coordination with other departments & marketing companies.
