My name is Kelley Kill, and I am an Adapted Physical Education Teacher for San Marcos Unified School District. Adapted Physical Education is Physical Education class for students with unique needs; or another way, I teach students that require additional support in participating in general physical education with the rest of their class. I currently teach Preschool-5th grade students, and those with cognitive, physical, or multiple impairments. Prior to San Marcos I taught at Ravenswood City School District in East Palo Alto.
Ravenswood City School District is a preschool thru 8th grade district that is located in East Palo Alto, and is a full inclusion district. I was the only Adapted Physical Education teacher for the district, and traveled to approximately 10 schools (including a charter school and a heads start program). I worked with students from preschool-8th grade, and would typically push-in for services. Prior to Ravenswood City School District, I have taught Adapted Physical Education for Sonoma County Office of Education, West Sonoma County Office of Education, and contract work with two private schools.
Besides teaching Adapted Physical Education, I have had different jobs throughout the educational field: Elementary Substitute Teacher, Middle School Substitute Teacher, Special Education Substitute Teacher, Teachers Assistant, Afterschool Teacher, and taught a general education Physical Education Class for a private school. My education consists of: Bachelors of Liberal Arts, Multiple Subject Credential, Adapted Physical Education Credential, and Masters in Kinesiology with Physical Education Emphasis. This allows me the ability a unique ability to collaborate and relate to multiple staff involved with student services and needs.
